I’ve been using this external cooler for a while now, and the temperature drops are genuinely impressive. Other buyers seem to feel similarly, noting significant cooling effects. When running the fan at maximum speed—which they mentioned is around 6000 revolutions—it actually drops the temperature by about 10 degrees, which is fantastic!
Even at lower, quieter settings like 3000 or 4500 RPM, I see a solid 6 to 8-degree drop, and it barely makes any annoying noise unless you push it to the max, which is not bothersome at all when you consider the cooling benefit. One minor point I’ve noticed is that the part that secures the fan unit pushes the console forward a tiny bit when docked, but it functions as advertised otherwise.
Functionality-wise, this product really delivers on its promise of cooling down the console efficiently. It’s highly recommended, especially considering the price point for the performance boost. While I don't have anything to compare it to regarding future Switch iterations—as one user pointed out—for my current system, the sustained performance boost is clear.
It just works very well.
If you frequently play your Nintendo Switch docked for extended periods and are concerned about heat management, I can strongly suggest picking up this cooling base. It provides tangible temperature reduction without introducing annoying noise pollution at moderate settings. Don't hesitate to upgrade your setup with this excellent Cooling Fan for NS Switch External Turbo Pumping Cooler Radiator Base.
