My initial impressions were split. The device arrived securely packaged in a laminated blister pack, and it actually came with the promised instructions, which is a small win. However, as soon as I plugged it in, I noticed the unit runs quite hot—alarmingly so, if I’m honest.
I’ve heard from other buyers that they feel the same way about the excessive heat. While it does provide some amplification, I have to admit it doesn't seem to live up to the advertised 20dB rating. My previous, much older 15db amplifier actually seemed to provide a stronger boost than this newer unit is delivering.
Using this amplifier is hit or miss, which is frustrating when you’re counting on stable reception. Some channels look fine, but trying to get consistent performance across all outputs has been a challenge. It's disappointing because when other buyers report that the device simply doesn't work at all, it makes you question the reliability of the whole line.
I really wish there were more brand alternatives available on the platform, as some users ended up having to buy a completely different, more expensive splitter locally just to get the job done.
So, who should consider this 2/3/4/6/8 Way Splitter? Honestly, if you have a weak signal or need serious, reliable boosting, I would advise caution. Other buyers seem to feel similarly, with some strongly advising against purchasing this specific type of device due to poor performance relative to the marketing claims.
If you’re looking for maximum amplification or superior build quality, this might not be the one for you.
Ultimately, while this particular CATV Splitter Digital TV Antenna Signal Amplifier arrived compliant with its technical specs on paper, its actual real-world performance and quality feel very poor and definitely not worth the price asked. Proceed with caution when looking at this signal booster.
